“You’ve seen them on the big screen. Now you have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see them in person.

The Tumbler and the Bat-Pod, two of the formidable, tech-driven vehicles that Batman uses in the upcoming film The Dark Knight Rises are embarking on a multi-stop tour of North America. The Tumbler Tour launches on May 12th in Bentonville, Arkansas and wraps up in Los Angeles, making stops all throughout the USA and Canada along the way. Check the list below to see if the tour is coming to your town, and visit the tour’s website and Facebook page for schedule updates and location details.” – dccomics.com

Yes! I know, it’s very exciting.  I’m a bit bummed that it’s only  doing the tour around  America  and not down here in Australia.  It looks so cool! If you want the  details  visit the Tour’s website  (linked just above this  paragraph) or click here for the details straight from the DC Comics website.

Now, I don’t usually get UTTERLY frustrated, but… Okay, here’s the story.

An Avengers Movie game has been confirmed, (YAY – Avengers: Battle For Earth). My first thoughts were Oh, cool! Finally, I’ve been waiting for this  for ages!. Although then I found out that  -silent sulk-  this game is only going to be released for Wii U and Xbox Kinect! GOSH! There are SO many things wrong with that. First of all, the Kinect is aimed at younger kids or families, thus meaning that the game will most likely have to be G or PG. Thus meaning that, because the movie was M, it won’t be able to properly fill the shoes of it’s epic movie! Secondly, the Kinect is not the most popular console, so it won’t be purchased by as many customers. Yet, if it was on the consoles that are EXTREMELY popular (Xbox/PS3), it will get more money and become increasingly better until it is practically hailed by people! Jeez, that’s stupid!

(Free Comic Book Day, If you’re wondering…)

On May 5th, I took a trip to the City of Melbourne with some friends. But that trip was not any  normal “trip”, IT WAS A TRIP TO SOME COMIC BOOK STORES
FOR FREE COMIC BOOK DAY! The day was an amazement, I did go to the Comic Book stores  that I mentioned in my first FCBD post, kind of… We visited Comics R Us and achieved our goal,
we even saw some dressed up fans along the way. Although when we went to All-Star Comics, the  was I line that went down the stairs of the store
and outside into the rain. We decided not to go there, but we still managed to stop off at Minotaur,  which turned out not to be participating in the event…
But I still had a GREAT time!

Yes, I did go and see the Avengers… Twice so far, so here’s my review.

The plot is that Loki comes to Earth looking for the Tesseract, (AKA The Cosmic Cube) and rule the world, etc. Now you’d think that this is just another of those clichéd superhero movies with the overused storyline, think again. This movie is definitely unique and well directed. Joss Whedon  brings an excellent sense of humour to the table which lights the whole cinema up with laughter. Though I really liked how Joss didn’t over do it with the humour, he kept his head in the game and still kept the plot fully intact.
There was even an emotional depth to the movie, (SPOILERS!) Agent Coulson becomes a loveable character with a nice sense of humour, although is later killed by Loki. He still manages to get Loki back with his last ounce of strength by firing a deadly laser beam at him and simply stating “so that’s what it does”. A lot of people wonder what the Avengers are actually avenging, they’re avenging Phil Coulson.
The CGI also deserves some praise, The Hulk looked amazing and his face even looked very similar to the actor’s, very well done! I also really enjoyed the other CGI stuff, Iron Man’s armour, Captain America’s shield (which I think was CGI’ed as well at some points) were both commendable.
All my other thoughts about this movie are positive, the movie was a great experience all round. My favourite Avenger was Hawkeye, even though he was mind-controlled by Loki for a majority of the film. When Black Widow got him back to his normal state, he really showed Loki’s army who’s boss!
Now I know I haven’t yet given many of my reviews bad marks on this blog. But it’s because this is my passion, it’s what I love, I feel that this film deserves a 10/10 from me, I DEFINATELY recommend to anyone, comic fan or not. (I’ve already got posters up in my room, I will put up pictures from my experience in another post in a jiffy!

And here are some photos of my first time there!

Unfortunately, so far I have only got pictures of my mum and I, but if I can put anymore up, I shall!

Well, as the title suggests, yes. Free Comic Book Day is a go. I am already planning to go with my brother and friends to a few Comic Books Stores in Melbourne such as Comics ‘R’ Us, All Star Comics and Minotaur. It’s on May 5th and apparently you can get… TWO FREE COMICS! Awesome!

Also, well done to Kalani for guessing all the Young Justice characters!
